Traducción libre del poema "If I ever have a daughter" del poeta irlandés Daragh Fleming.
Nunca aprenderá a esconderse o hacerse menos.
A ver.

Versión original
If I ever have a daughter she will be feared by weak men.
But to everyone else, she’ll be a consistent friend.
She’ll never lack meaning.
She’ll be gentle and kind while breaking every glass ceiling.
She’ll take up space and she’ll like what she likes.
She won’t be taught to reduce herself or hide.
My girl will be feared by weak men.
She’ll demand respect because she deserves it.
She’ll always know love.
She’ll never feel she needs to earn it.
She’ll know her value is inherent, has nothing to do with her looks.
She’ll be leader, she will be healer, write wrongs, write books.
She’ll be mother one day if she so choses.
But her value won’t be defined by the use of her whims.
She’ll be whatever lives in her heart.
She’ll know dreams are there to be chased from the start.
My girl will know poetry and song.
She’ll know I will listen when something feels wrong.
She’ll learn that women are too emotional is an original lie.
And she will not grow up with a father that refuses to cry.
So yeah, my girl will make some weak men shake in their knees.
She won’t be the woman society expects.
She’ll be the woman society needs.
